AI agent launch checklist: what to check before going live
This launch checklist gathers what to check before the agent answers your real customers: your business details, the agent’s knowledge, a tested reply, channels, alerts and your team. The setup wizard enforces the most important items before switching on; the rest you review in the dashboard.
Use it twice: before switching on the first time, and after every big change in your business, such as new prices or a new branch.
What must be complete before switching the agent on?
Section titled “What must be complete before switching the agent on?”The setup wizard does not let you switch the agent on until these items are complete, and it writes under the switch-on button what is still blocking it:
- Business name: the name your customers know you by.
- The four essentials: services, business model, opening hours and location. Anything you deferred is required now.
- A decision on every proposed fact: no fact is left waiting to be approved or rejected.
- Approved knowledge size: within the allowed limit, or the wizard asks you to shorten it.
- An approved reply from the latest version: you tested the agent and approved a reply after your last change. See Test the agent.
What do I check in the dashboard before the first real conversation?
Section titled “What do I check in the dashboard before the first real conversation?”Check these items on their pages in the dashboard; most are a quick look.
| Item | Where to check it | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Prices, services and common questions | Knowledge | The agent answers from these alone, and never guesses a price that is not written down |
| The agent’s name, dialect and style | Agent Studio | This is how it introduces itself and talks to your customers |
| Appointment hours in each branch | Branches | The agent books only within them, if your business takes appointments |
| The branch’s map location | Branches | So the agent sends a map pin instead of a written address |
| At least one connected channel | Channels | Without one, the agent reaches nobody |
| Auto-reply on each channel | Replies & agent on Channels | A channel with Auto-reply off sends its messages to your team |
| The alert number | Notification WhatsApp number under Notifications in Settings | It gets a WhatsApp message on every handoff to a person |
| Notifications on your phone | Mujib app and notifications | So you know right away when a customer needs you |
| Team accounts | Team | So your staff reply from their own accounts. Available on request, and depends on your subscription |
The Set up your agent card on Overview tracks some of these for you: Connect a channel, Add knowledge and Set the agent voice, plus a branch step when a branch is missing something: the branch itself, its appointment times if your business takes appointments, or its map location. Once they are done, the card goes away.
How do I know the agent is really working?
Section titled “How do I know the agent is really working?”Send your business a message from another account and check that it arrives in Inbox and the agent answers it; that is the clearest test that the channel, the agent and the inbox work together.
- On Channels, make sure the channel shows Connected.
- If you see WhatsApp is connected but the agent is off, press Turn the agent on.
- Message your number or Page from another phone or account, as in Testing after switching on.
- In that message, ask to talk to a staff member, and check that the alert reaches you.
What do I watch in the first days?
Section titled “What do I watch in the first days?”Read the agent’s conversations regularly in the first days, and fix any wrong reply at its source.
- A wrong or incomplete reply: fix the fact in Knowledge, or add a correction from Agent corrections.
- Many handoffs to the team: the knowledge is usually missing something customers ask about often; add it.
- Handed-off conversations: the agent stops replying in them, and by default returns after a full day with no messages. See Auto-resume.
- Your own replies: when you answer a customer from your phone or the inbox, the agent stops in that conversation. See Your reply pauses the agent.
Can I stop the agent quickly if I need to?
Section titled “Can I stop the agent quickly if I need to?”Yes, in two ways, and neither needs you to disconnect a channel.
- Stop everything: in Agent Studio, replies stop on every channel at once, and new messages wait for your team in the inbox until you switch it back on.
- Stop one channel: in Replies & agent on Channels, turn Auto-reply off for that channel alone.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to finish every item before switching on?
The items the setup wizard asks for are required, and the agent cannot be switched on without them. The rest improve replies and alerts, and you can finish them after switching on.
Does the agent answer before a channel is connected?
No. If you switch the agent on before connecting a channel, it stays saved and starts answering as soon as a channel is connected.
What do I do when my prices or hours change?
Update them in the knowledge base or on the Branches page right away; the agent answers from what is saved now.
Do I need an alert number?
It is not required, but it is how you get a WhatsApp message whenever a customer needs a person, so we recommend setting one.
How do I stop the agent quickly if I need to?
From Agent Studio you can stop replies on every channel at once, or turn auto-reply off for a single channel on the Channels page.
